This review is long overdue but much deserved. To give some back story, I've suffered from chronic back pain for 10+ years (since I was a kid) and was never really provided solutions but rather told to deal with the pain. I got so used to being in pain and would become discouraged from doing certain physical activities because of the discomfort and pain it would inflict. As an athlete and lover of a good workout, my back and hip pain felt like such a setback. I was referred to Dr. Van Aken and truthfully was skeptical about going to a chiropractor. I had seen 6 chiropractors prior but they failed to educate me on my body and how to properly care for it. Because of that it felt like I wasn't progressing but more so maintaining a manageable level of pain.
Dr. Van Aken has continued to impress me with his devotion to my care, health and physical well being. He has gone above and beyond as a provider and truly healed me. He prescribed a shoe lift to level out my hips (which no Dr has ever even mentioned!) and it reduced my hip pain significantly and allowed me to get back to running and lifting. This is just one example of how Dr seeks to get to the root cause of the problem and devises solutions that have long-term impact. I feel healed and I'm so blessed to have received care from Dr. Van Aken - I 100% trust him and have and will continue to recommended friends/family. I can't believe how good I feel. Aside from being an exceptional chiropractor, Dr is all around a genuine and kind person who really cares about you. I've seen him over 20 times and each visit he takes the time to ask how I am and gets to know me. I appreciate the personal touch. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. I actually look forward to my appointments because of this aspect. Would highly recommend!

I highly recommend my family and friends to give them a try. I hadn't realized how much damage i had caused to my spine or the consequences of it until they took x-rays and they found i have double scoliosis and arthritis starting in my neck and i am only 25. I had seen my GP at Kaiser regarding my concerns prior to coming to AHC and was blown off as just "cartilage grinding". Now, i am fully aware of what the problems were and I am getting it properly treated.

After searching tirelessly for a new chiropractor I stumbled upon this office through none other than Yelp. You have no idea how difficult it is to find a good chiropractor with a nice office and friendly staff. I've seen my fair share of doctors and am always annoyed when I have to move because that means finding a new chiropractor (again!!). It's important to work with an experienced doctor if you need holistic care because one bad adjustment can lead to immense pain. If you go to a chiropractor, it's most likely because you were in a car accident or some other type of trauma that caused back pain. With that being said, no one wants to enter an office in pain and leave in a greater state of pain.
The doctors at AHC certainly know what they're doing and have helped me stabilize my back after a traumatic injury. I will need ongoing adjustments for the rest of my life so I'm glad to have found an office that I feel comfortable in. When visiting their office you get the sense that they genuinely care about their patients and want to help as much as possible. The staff have always been very helpful during my visits and they make the check-in process quick and easy. Their office has 8 private areas and a wide range of services are available for patients. If your medical insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care the doctor will work with you to figure out a reasonable financial agreement. This flexibility shows that they make their clients a priority and aren't just running a business for profit. If you're in need of a new doctor I highly recommend AHC!
